TAKE NOTICE that the Corporation of the Village of Westport will hold a Public Meeting with respect to the Village’s proposed new Zoning By-law pursuant to Sections 26(9) and 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990, Chapter P.13, at:
5:00 pm, Tuesday, July 28th, 2026, at Town Hall
at 30 Bedford Street, Westport, ON
A Zoning By-law provides provisions governing the use of land within the Village. The Zoning By-law applies to all lands within the geographic limits of the Village of Westport. The policy basis for the new Zoning By-law is informed by the Official Plan, which was approved by the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville on March 21st, 2024.
The Village is proposing to repeal and replace the current Zoning By-law with a new Zoning By-law. The purpose of the proposed new Zoning By-law is to bring the Village’s Zoning By-law into conformity with the Official Plan and to ensure that the By-law is consistent with updates to the Planning Act and other legislation, the new 2024 Provincial Planning Statement, and to address matters of local planning interest.
The Zoning By-law will introduce various new or altered definitions, provisions, and zones and a new zoning schedule for the purpose of prohibiting and regulating the use of land and the erection, location, and use of buildings and structures. The effect of this Zoning By-law will be to repeal and replace the existing Comprehensive Zoning By-law No. 08-12 and all amendments thereto.

THE SUBJECT LANDS, being the entirety of lands within the corporate limits of the Village of Westport, are not the subject of any other applications under the Planning Act that relate directly to the comprehensive Zoning By-law update. As the Zoning By-law amendment applies to all lands within the Village, no key map has been provided herein.
ANY PERSON may attend the Public Meeting and/or make written or verbal representation in support of or in opposition to the above item(s). In the event that you are unable to attend the meeting but wish to submit written comments, please attempt to ensure that comments are delivered to the Clerk’s office prior to the meeting.
