The federal by-election is today, Monday, December 3, 2018 for Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes (Ontario) to fill a vacancy left by the late MP Gord Brown.
The polling station in Westport is at Town Hall, 30 Bedford St. and will be open between 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. for voting.
You must be at least 18 years old on election day in order to be eligible to vote. As well, in order to vote in a federal by-election, your home address must be in the electoral district from October 31, 2018 (the first day of revision of the voters lists) until election day, Monday, December 3, 2018.
You can check to be sure you are registered to vote by visiting elections.ca/register or calling at 1‑800‑463‑6868.
Unregistered electors can register at their polling place just before they vote or by calling 1-800-463-6868.
