Vaccination Statistics

• For individuals 12 plus, our first dose vaccination rate is 96.4%, fully vaccinated is 94.2% and 57.1% have received their third booster dose

• For individuals 5 plus, our first dose vaccination rate is 93.6%, and fully vaccinated rate is 88.2% – for third doses the rate is 53.2%.

• Vaccination rate for 5 to 11 is 58.2% with a first dose – that is up from 56.7% last week – 9.2% of children 5 to 11 have received a second dose.

• Third dose rates: for 60s – 76.7%, 70s – 86.9%, 80plus – 81.8%

• As of January 24, 2022 a total of 404,455 vaccinations have been administered in the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit (LGLDHU) region.

• About half of the vaccinations are being given in pharmacies and most physicians and nurse practitioners are providing vaccine in their offices.

National Vaccine Day January 27th

• We encourage everyone to get first, second or third doses based on your eligibility. We extend a special invitation to anyone who has a child who is between age 5 and 11, we encourage you to book your child’s vaccination appointment as soon as possible. Contact us if you have questions about the vaccine.

Vaccination Booking

• There are many appointments available. A list of upcoming clinics is available on our website.

• For convenience, we still encourage anyone to check with a participating pharmacy or ask your doctor’s office if you are there for an appointment.

• The Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre has started to deliver auto dial messages from Dr. Moore targeting all individuals who are eligible for their booster dose but who have not yet booked one.

• If you don’t feel well or have symptoms of COVID please do NOT attend your vaccine appt. You can receive the COVID-19 vaccine when you are 10 days after the start of COVID-19 symptoms (day 0) or the date that the positive test was done (day 0), whichever is sooner, and also that symptoms are improving, no fever for 24 hours and no GI symptoms for 48 hours. No need to rebook – just bring your confirmation to any clinic once recovered and we will get you in.

Vaccination and Illness

• The Omicron variant can cause reinfection at a higher rate than did Delta. Getting the vaccine after COVID-19 infection further boosts the immune response so it lasts longer.

• A person can receive the COVID-19 vaccine when they are 10 days after the start of COVID-19 symptoms (day 0) or the date that the positive test was done (day 0), whichever is sooner, and also that symptoms are improving, no fever for 24 hours and no GI symptoms for 48 hours.
