Vaccination Statistics

• Last week our updated vaccination rates changed because we started using the newly received data from the 2020 Census from Statistics Canada.
• For individuals 12 plus, our first dose vaccination rate was 94.3% last week and is 94.5% this week, and fully vaccinated rate was 91.8% and is 92.2% this week.
• As of November 21, 2021 a total of 345,349 vaccinations have been administered in the Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit (LGLDHU) region.
• Our vaccination dashboard has all the details and will be updated again next Tuesday, November 30.

Vaccination of Children Ages 5 to 11 – starting Friday November 26th

• Children born from 2010 to 2016 inclusive are now eligible for COVID-19 vaccination. The children’s vaccine will start to be available in clinics on Friday Nov. 26. Parents can now book their children into a Vaccine Clinic for Friday, Nov. 26 and beyond.
• An appointment can be booked at the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark online booking portal or call the local Call Centre at 1-844-369-1234. Booking an appointment will ensure the child is able to receive vaccine and reduce wait time at the clinic. Walk in appointments MAY be available based on capacity and supply.
• REMINDER: All local appointments are in the local booking system; and are NOT in the provincial booking system.

• COVID vaccine for children ages 5-11 is given at least 14 days after another vaccine. And then, after receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, it is important to wait 28 days before giving another type of vaccine. This is so that we can learn more about the specific side effects to the COVID-19 vaccine in children age 5 to 11 beyond the clinical trials done to date. This spacing is not needed for youth or adult COVID vaccines anymore.
• Some pharmacies will have vaccine for 5-11 year olds. Check a participating pharmacy
• Healthcare providers will provide vaccine in their offices or will participate in the vaccine clinics in the community. They are also available to answer questions about the vaccine.

Third Dose Information

• Health Care Workers can check their eligibility here
• Those eligible can get the third dose 6 months (minimum of 168 days) after their second dose – a date check tool is available just below the third dose eligibility information on our website.
• Third doses have similar side effects to the second doses e.g. a sore arm and mild symptoms, including fatigue, for a day or two
• We are encouraging everyone to check with friends, family and neighbours who are eligible for 3rd doses and assist them in making an appointment.
