Council of the Village of Westport has called a By-Election to fill a vacancy on Council created by the resignation of a Councillor. The four candidates running for the open Council seat are:
Ami Carty
Frank Andrew Huth
Mark Parliament Rene Reynen.
Election Day is Monday, October 18, 2021 and the Polling Station is located at Town Hall, 30 Bedford St., Westport. where voting will take place between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.
An Advance Poll will take place on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the same location, between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Please be sure to bring your Voter Identification when you come to vote.
Voting By Proxy
If you are an eligible elector, you may appoint a person to vote on your behalf. The person you appoint becomes your voting proxy. Your proxy must be an eligible elector in the Village of Westport. A person may act as a voting proxy only once except if the person is acting as voting proxy for a relative. To appoint a voting proxy you must complete the appropriate form (see below) and is also available from the Returning Officer. When you complete the form, you must identify the name of the person you are appointing as your proxy before you sign. The signed form must then be presented for certification, during normal office hours, until Monday, October 18, 2021 at the Village Office. In addition a voting proxy may be appointed between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the Advance Poll on October 13, 2021. All proxies must be appointed at the office of the Clerk before the end of regular office hours.
